Shu Ren International School will offer an immersion program in Mandarin and English within the framework of the world-class International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) programs. Once we qualify for full authorization*, Shu Ren could be the nation’s first Mandarin-English immersion school offering Primary Years Program (PYP) to Pre-K through 5th grade students, Middle Years Program (MYP) to 6-8th grade students. Shu Ren’s students would have full proficiency and a high level of achievement in all core academic domains in both languages, and above all, they would be creative problem solvers, independent thinkers, and passionate life-long learners.

Shu Ren will make a conscious effort to teach both Chinese and American cultures, as well as cultures around the world. Shu Ren’s students will be able to understand and communicate with people from very different points of view, and integrate the positive aspects of a variety of cultures.

Shu Ren will focus not only on the academics, but also on students’ physical and emotional health. Shu Ren’s students will be able to apply a variety of life and physical skills to positively solve life’s problems.

*Shu Ren International School wishes to be authorized as an IB World School and join the community of state, private, national and international schools from every region of the world. These are schools that share a common philosophy – a commitment to high quality, challenging, international education that this school believes is important for our students.

Only schools authorized by the International Baccalaureate (IB) as IB World Schools can offer any of its three academic programmes: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), or the Diploma Programmer (DP). This school aspires to become an IB World School, offering the PYP and MYP. However, there is no guarantee that authorization will be granted.

Schools applying to offer the PYP or MYP must begin implementing these programmes before the school is granted IB World School status. A delegation appointed by the IB will schedule a visit to the school and report on the school’s progress and capacity to deliver this programme. If the outcome is positive, the school will be authorized to offer the programme and will attain the status of IB World School.
