I apologize if this is the wrong spot, I'd appreciate any guidance and where I should post poker theory 🌈 questions tied to this book specifically?

I'm looking at the two alpha examples on pages 82 and 83:

Example 1):

9 handed 12.5% 🌈 ante;Action folds to hero in the SB with 72o and an overly tight player in BB. What's the alpha if 🌈 we raise 2.5bb from the SB?

They proceed to show alpha as 2/(2+2.625)=0.43.

I assume that's implying we raise to 2.5bb total, 🌈 so the BB has to call an additional 2 bb? However, if we raise to 2.5bb, so the bet = 🌈 2 in the formula, shouldn't our pot variable equal 3.125 to account for the extra 1/2bb we have to put 🌈 in to enter the pot?

I would think this should be 2/(2+3.125) = 0.39, but not certain and trying to better 🌈 understand this. Unfortunately I didn't get much clarity moving to the next example as it left me more confused.

Example 2):

6 🌈 handed, no antes;Action folds to hero on the BN. How often do each one of the players in the blinds 🌈 fold to a 2.5bb raise for Hero to have a profitable open with any two cards?

Ignoring the muiltiplayer square root 🌈 component of the calculation, they calculate the alpha as:

2.5/(2.5+1.5)

Even though the wording is similar, it seems like in this example 🌈 they are taking the raise to mean they are opening for 3.5bb from the bn, given the 2.5bb bet size 🌈 in the calculation? Again if it was 2.5 above the blinds, I would think would need to include the BN 🌈 raisers extra 1bb in the pot size?

I'm clearly not understanding this entirely so any clarity would be greatly appreciated on 🌈 this calculation.
